Fall Transition Pieces At Every Price Point

With fall here, it’s officially time to start thinking about transitioning your wardrobe away from summer. With all the craziness that’s happened this year, I don’t imagine we all have the budget to completely edit out our entire wardrobe. In fact, I encourage you to find ways to repurpose pieces in your wardrobe to work in different seasons to get the best cost per wear possible…especially with investment pieces.

There are a few items that you’ll need to purchase to thoughtfully transition your wardrobe towards fall. Today I’m sharing a few fall transition pieces at different price points because I know how quickly transitioning your pieces can add up.

A few key pieces I would look into first are light knit sweaters, low heeled booties, and sneakers. Chances are you already have a great selection of denim to work with, introducing a few new sweaters and staple shoes into your rotation will make your basics and bottoms feel brand new when putting together your looks.

Here’s a few pieces I’m loving for the season that you can pair with the staples in your wardrobe:

As soon as fall hits I’m always excited to slip into a sweater but the weather doesn’t always permit this seasonal fashion transition. Just because the weather doesn’t always cooperate doesn’t mean you can’t start shifting your wardrobe to take advantage of fall trends. Save your chunkier knits for winter and instead opt for a lightweight sweater. This season I’m reaching for cardigans like this gorgeous camel sweater, this chunky-looking yet super lightweight cardigan, and this super affordable rib-knit. Speaking of cardigans, I have been eying this straw-colored cardigan from Vince…such a stunning color. As much as I love cardigans, I’m looking forward to wearing the puff-sleeve trend this season. This simple puff-sleeved sweater is great for fall! While we’re on the topic of sweaters, you can’t go wrong with a classic turtleneck like this one and this one.

The phrase less is more is something I keep in mind when shopping booties in terms of heel height. A low heel is not only more comfortable and practical but also so chic and understated. This pair of brown croc booties are so good and would be great paired with black or even denim. This classic black bootie is something you could style in any season which means amazing cost per wear. Another pair of booties that caught my eye are these western-ish suede boots.

Another great investment in any season, but especially fall is a new pair of sneakers. You can pair a great sneaker with anything from dresses to slouchy denim and leather. The dad-inspired sneaker is back this season but with a much less bulky style like this pair of retro runners. If more of a neutral sneaker is your go-to, you can’t go wrong with a classic white sneaker like this pair. I’m sure you’ve seen these Alexander McQueen elevated sneakers…I found this great look-a-like pair for under $100! And I know Golden Goose’s aren’t for everyone, but I’m loving this tan pair.
